Add tomato paste and canned whole tomatoes, then balance acidity with sugar.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 50 minutes.

Blend the mixture until smooth using an immersion blender.

Stir in 1/4 cup whipping cream or alternative cream.

Reserve a little cream for drizzling on top before serving.
