1

Grab a 9x13 inch cake pan and do not spray it with oil.

2

Measure out 4 cups of oats and add them to the 9x13 pan.

3

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

4

While waiting for the oven to preheat, grab a medium bowl and add 1/3 cup of firmly packed brown sugar.

5

Add 1/4 cup of sesame seeds to the bowl.

6

Add 1/2 cup of wheat bran to the bowl.

7

Add 1/2 cup of flaked coconut to the bowl.

8

Optionally, add 1/2 cup of sliced almonds to the bowl.

9

Once the oven is preheated, toast the oats in the oven for about 10 minutes.

10

After 10 minutes, remove the oats from the oven and add them to the bowl with the dry ingredients.

11

In the same bowl, add 1/3 cup of vegetable oil, followed by 1/4 cup of honey, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

12

Mix everything together until all the dry ingredients are coated with the wet ingredients.

13

Spread the mixture back into the 9x13 pan and ensure it is evenly distributed.

14

Bake the granola for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally to promote even browning.

15

After 10 minutes, stir the granola to ensure even cooking, then return it to the oven for the remaining time.

16

Check the granola after 20 to 25 minutes; it should be golden brown and fragrant.
