Finally, add the dissolved yeast.
Whip egg whites until stiff peaks form and gently fold them into the batter using a spatula.
Optionally, add a bit of beer to the batter.
Cover the batter and let it rest at room temperature for at least 2 hours to rise.
After 2 hours, the batter is ready to use.
Pour a good amount of batter into the waffle iron to cover the imprint.
Cook for about 4 to 5 minutes until golden brown.
Remove the waffle and repeat with the remaining batter, yielding about 7 to 8 waffles.
Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
