Originating from the coastal state of Goa, these beef croquettes reflect the region's Portuguese influence, where spices and meat are celebrated. Traditionally served as a snack or appetizer, they are popular during festive occasions and family gatherings. Today, Goan beef croquettes have gained popularity beyond India, often enjoyed in various forms across different cuisines.

Oats provide a healthier option while crushed crackers are a budget-friendly alternative.

Ground turkey is leaner, while ground pork is typically less expensive.
Start by preparing the spice mix: add 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, 1 teaspoon cumin, and 2 teaspoons ginger-garlic paste into a bowl.
Grind the spices into a powder.
Soak 2 slices of bread in water until soft, then squeeze out the excess water.
Boil 1/2 kg of beef until tender, then drain and cool it before shredding.
Chop 1 onion finely and add it to the mixture.
Add chopped coriander leaves and green chilies to the mixture.
Mix in the soaked bread and combine everything well.
Add salt to taste and a splash of white vinegar, then mix again.
Let the mixture rest for 15 to 20 minutes before shaping into croquettes.
Shape the mixture into small croquettes.
Heat oil in a pan until hot, then carefully add the croquettes one by one.
Fry the croquettes until they turn a light golden color, turning them as needed.
Once cooked, remove the croquettes from the oil and drain on paper towels.
