Beef Masala

1 kg beef, cut into cubes
2 large onions, finely chopped
3 tomatoes, pureed
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 inch ginger, minced
2 green chilies, slit
1/2 cup yogurt
2 tsp cumin seeds
2 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp garam masala
1/2 cup cooking oil
Salt to taste
Fresh cilantro for garnish

In a pressure cooker, heat oil over medium heat.

Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.

Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.

Stir in minced garlic, ginger, and green chilies; cook for 2-3 minutes.

Add the beef cubes and cook until browned on all sides.

Mix in the pureed tomatoes, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt; cook for 10 minutes.

Add yogurt and stir well to combine; cook for another 5 minutes.

Pour in enough water to cover the beef, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.

Cover and simmer for 30-40 minutes, or until the beef is tender.

Once cooked, sprinkle garam masala and stir well; cook for an additional 5 minutes.
