1.5 lbs beef shanks or beef with bones
1 large onion, quartered
1 tsp peppercorn
2 pieces corn, cut into 3 parts
1 large or 2 small potatoes, quartered
12 pieces green beans, ends removed
1 tbsp fish sauce
salt to taste
1 small cabbage, cut into 4
2 stalks green onion, cut into 2

In a large pot, add 6-8 cups of water and bring to a boil.

Add 1.5 lbs of beef shanks or beef with bones to the boiling water.

Add 1 large onion (quartered) and 1 tsp of peppercorn to the pot.

Simmer the beef until tender.

Once the beef is tender, add 2 pieces of corn (cut into 3 parts), 1 large or 2 small potatoes (quartered), and 12 pieces of green beans (ends removed).

Stir in 1 tbsp of fish sauce and salt to taste.

Add 1 small cabbage (cut into 4) and 2 stalks of green onion (cut into 2) to the pot.

Cook until the vegetables are tender.
