Kale Chips

1 head of kale
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
a smidgen of cayenne pepper
a couple of sprinkles of salt
1 teaspoon grated pecorino romano cheese

Take one head of kale and remove the main stems, tearing the leaves into large pieces.

Wash and dry the kale thoroughly to ensure it is very dry.

In a bowl, add 2 teaspoons of olive oil to the kale and massage it into the leaves until they are well coated.

Prepare a seasoning mix with 1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper, 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon onion powder, and a smidgen of cayenne pepper.

Sprinkle a couple of sprinkles of salt over the kale, being careful not to add too much since the kale will shrink while baking.

Add the prepared seasoning mix to the kale and mix well to ensure all pieces are coated.

Grate a small amount of pecorino romano cheese (about 1 teaspoon) and add it to the kale, mixing it in for extra flavor.

Spread the kale evenly across two silicone baking sheets, avoiding overlap of the leaves.

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit and place the baking sheets in the oven.

Check the kale chips after 15 minutes, rotating them for even baking, and bake for a total of 30 minutes until done.
