400 grams cottage cheese (paneer), cut into 1½ inch thick strips
15-20 wonton sheets, shredded
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon green chilli sauce
Salt to taste
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
Oil for deep-frying
2 cups refined flour-cornstarch batter
Schezwan sauce for serving

Put cottage cheese strips in a bowl. Add ginger-garlic paste, soy sauce, green chilli sauce, salt and crushed peppercorns and mix well.

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.

Spread shredded wonton strips on a plate.

Add salt and crushed peppercorns to the batter and mix well.

Dip each marinated cottage cheese strip in the batter and coat with shredded wonton sheets.

Put the prepared cottage cheese strips in hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.

Serve hot with schezwan sauce.
