1

Season both sides of the Basa fish fillets with a pinch of salt, a couple of pinches of turmeric, and a pinch of chili powder. Dust lightly with flour.

2

Dice half an onion and chop the tomatoes. Blend the tomatoes with half a cup of water to create a puree.

3

Heat a couple of tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium-low heat.

4

Carefully place the seasoned fish in the pan and cook until golden brown, flipping carefully after a few minutes.

5

In the same pan, add the diced onion and 1 tablespoon of garlic, cooking until softened, about 5-6 minutes.

6

Add half a teaspoon of salt to the onions and garlic to help soften them.

7

Stir in 1 teaspoon of curry powder, 1 teaspoon of ground coriander, and half a teaspoon of ground turmeric, cooking briefly to release the spices' flavors.

8

Pour in the tomato puree and squeeze in the juice of 2 lemons, stirring to combine.

9

Add the cooked fish back into the pan along with some green chilies and tomato wedges, cooking for a couple of minutes to meld the flavors.

10

Garnish with fresh coriander before serving.
