Add lemon juice to the blender with the garlic and blend for about a minute until smooth.

Add 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil and some liquid from the chickpeas.

Pulse for about a minute, then blend until relatively smooth.

Add tahini paste (3-5 teaspoons) to the mixture.

Taste and adjust by adding more tahini or olive oil if needed, then blend until very smooth.
