Cheese Angoori, a delightful Indian dessert, is a fusion of traditional gulab jamun and the rich flavors of cheese. Originating from the northern regions of India, it is often prepared during festivals and celebrations, symbolizing joy and sweetness. This dish showcases the versatility of paneer, transforming it into a soft, syrup-soaked treat that is loved by many. Today, variations of Cheese Angoori can be found in various Indian sweet shops, each adding their unique twist to this classic recipe.

Prepare cheese balls by mixing 1 cup grated cheese, 1/2 cup mawa, and corn flour to form a dough.
Shape the dough into small balls and coat them with corn flour.
Refrigerate the balls for at least 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan for shallow frying.
Fry the balls gently until they turn brown, then remove them onto tissue paper to drain excess oil.
Prepare the gravy by boiling water with cashews, pistachios, 2 bay leaves, 2 large cardamoms, and cloves for about 10-15 minutes.
Blend the boiled mixture into a fine paste.
In a pan, heat butter and oil, then add cardamom and cloves followed by the spices: coriander powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder, and garam masala.
Add onion, tomato, and the blended cashew paste to the pan and mix well.
Stir in 1/2 cup beaten yogurt and cook for 5 minutes until the oil separates on top.
Garnish the gravy with fresh coriander and grated cheese.
