1 medium bottle gourd (lauki)
0.5 liters full cream milk
2 teaspoons ghee
1 teaspoon cardamom powder
4 teaspoons sugar (optional)
some chopped almonds (for garnish)

Peel the bottle gourd.

Grate the bottle gourd using a grater.

Squeeze out the excess water from the grated bottle gourd using a strainer.

In a pan, heat 2 teaspoons of ghee over low to medium flame.

Add the grated bottle gourd to the pan and sauté for about 5 minutes until it softens and changes color.

Pour in 0.5 liters of full cream milk into the pan with the sautéed bottle gourd.

Add 1 teaspoon of cardamom powder and some chopped almonds.

Mix everything well and cook on high flame for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Continue to cook until the mixture thickens and reaches a desired consistency, stirring frequently for about 15 minutes.
