1 can (15.5 oz) chickpeas (garbanzo beans)
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons water (up to 4 tablespoons for looser consistency)
1 clove garlic (or more to taste)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cumin

Wash the top of the can of chickpeas before opening.

Open the can and dump the contents into a strainer.

Rinse the chickpeas to remove the slimy liquid and excess sodium.

Add 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil to the chickpeas.

Add 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice.

Add 2 tablespoons of water (up to 4 tablespoons for a looser consistency).

Add 1 clove of garlic (or more if desired).

Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of cumin.

Blend all the ingredients together using an immersion blender until smooth.
