Preheat the waffle iron before starting.

Check for two indicator lights on the waffle iron: a red light for power and a green light for readiness.

Take the yeasted batter out of the refrigerator; it should be full of air and a bit glutenous.

Stir the batter down to release the air; it should have a nice yeasty aroma.

Pour 1/2 cup of batter into the grid section of the waffle maker and close it.

Wait for the green light to indicate when the waffle is ready to be removed.

Once the green light turns on and off, lift the edge of the waffle to remove it quickly as it will be hot.
