1

Cut up about 2 cups of okra into pieces.

2

In a 7-quart soup pot, add the okra with no oil and cook on low heat to reduce slime.

3

In a bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour with 1 teaspoon of salt.

4

Gradually add water to the flour and salt mixture to form a dough, kneading until no loose flour remains.

5

Pinch off pieces of dough and shape them into flat discs and spinners.

6

Check on the okra to ensure it has cooked off the slime and is not clumping together.

7

Add about 1 tablespoon of oil to the pot and sauté onions, bell peppers, garlic, thyme, and 1 tablespoon of tomato paste for about 10 minutes.

8

Add 1 tablespoon and a half of browning to the sautéed mixture for color.

9

Return the okra to the pot and cook for another 5 minutes.

10

Add about 2 cups of water to the pot and bring to a boil.

11

Add ham, turkey, ribs, and chicken to the boiling mixture.

12

After about 25-30 minutes, add fresh corn to the pot.

13

10 minutes before finishing, add the dough pieces to the soup, patting them in randomly.

14

Add plantains to the soup and let everything cook down together.
