1

Cut the ends off the garlic but do not peel it.

2

Heat 1 cup of vegetable oil in a deep pot.

3

Add the cubed beef to the hot oil and spread it evenly in the pot.

4

Sear the beef on high heat for 3-4 minutes without stirring.

5

Turn the beef to cook the other side.

6

Check if the beef is cooked by opening the middle to see if it has released water.

7

Continue cooking on high heat until all the water evaporates and only oil remains.

8

Once the beef is browned, add 1 tsp of black pepper and stir to coat the beef.

9

Add sliced onions and stir again, then cover the pot to let the onions soften, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

10

Once the onions are softened, add the chopped carrots and mix well.

11

Cover the pot and let the carrots cook until they soften and brown.

12

Add 1 tbsp of salt and mix well.

13

Add the rinsed and drained rice on top of the meat and vegetables without mixing.

14

Sprinkle 1-2 tsp of salt evenly over the rice.

15

Add 2 tbsp of butter on top of the rice.

16

Place the whole garlic head among the rice.

17

Pour 1.5 cups of hot water for every 1 cup of rice over the mixture.

18

Before closing the lid, poke holes in the rice with a knife to allow the water to penetrate.

19

Cover the pot and cook on low heat, checking occasionally for doneness.

20

If there is still water, cover again and wait for it to evaporate completely.

21

Once the water is fully absorbed, cover the pot with aluminum foil or a clean plastic bag and let it cook for an additional 15 minutes on the lowest heat with the lid on.

22

After 15 minutes, remove the cover and fluff the rice with a spoon.
