1

In a mixing bowl, add 375 g of all-purpose wheat flour and 1 teaspoon of salt.

2

Add 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil and 3 tablespoons of salted butter to the bowl.

3

Gradually add 400 mL of boiling hot water a little at a time, mixing with a spoon to avoid burns.

4

Once the dough starts to come together, knead it in the bowl for at least 2 minutes until well mixed.

5

If the dough is sticky, add a little dry flour to adjust the consistency.

6

Transfer the dough to a workboard and divide it into two equal pieces.

7

Roll each piece into a long cylinder shape.

8

Cut the cylinders into six equal pieces, using the first piece as a guide.

9

Shape each piece into a disc by lifting it with a slight twist and pressing it down.

10

Roll out each disc on a floured surface, using dry flour on the rolling pin to prevent sticking.

11

Continue to roll out the discs until all 12 Roti are formed and set aside, covered to prevent drying out.

12

Heat a flat pan over medium heat until hot.

13

Add the first Roti to the pan and allow it to toast until bubbles appear on the top.

14

Once bubbles form, flip the Roti over and add melted salted butter on top.

15

Turn the Roti again to apply butter on the other side as well, allowing it to puff up.

16

Remove the Roti from the pan once cooked and set aside on a plate.

17

Repeat the toasting process for the remaining Roti.
