260g water
20g oil (2 tablespoons)
20g sugar (1 tablespoon)
10g salt (2 teaspoons)

Sift the flour and reserve 4 tablespoons.

Add sugar and salt, and mix the dry ingredients.

Add water and finally the oil.

Combine the ingredients by mixing in circular motions from the center outwards.

Knead the dough well by hand, with a spoon, or a mixer without adding the reserved flour at this stage.

Gradually add the remaining flour, one tablespoon at a time.

Form the dough into a ball.

Cover the dough and let it rest for 20 minutes.

Divide the dough into pieces of about 60g.

Make small balls and let them rest covered for another 20 minutes.

Roll the balls evenly into circles.

Let the dough rest for another 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, heat the skillet on high for 5 minutes.

Roll the dough into a flatbread with a diameter of 18cm.

Place the Roti on the hot skillet and cook for 30 seconds.

When bubbles appear, flip it to the other side and cook for 20 seconds.

Flip again and press and turn the Roti with a kitchen towel for 20 seconds.

Flip the Roti once more and repeat the process.

While the Roti is still warm, brush it with butter.
