Eggs in a Nest, also known as Eggs in a Basket or Toad in the Hole, is a classic American breakfast dish that combines the simplicity of eggs and toast. Traditionally enjoyed for breakfast or brunch, this dish brings together the comforting flavors of crispy bread and runny eggs. Variations exist worldwide, with different types of bread and toppings, but the essence remains the same: a warm, satisfying start to the day.

Nutritional yeast is lower in fat and adds flavor.
Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius (or 200 degrees fan).
Place 12 chipolatas in a roasting tin and add 1 tablespoon of sunflower oil, mixing to coat the sausages.
Roast the sausages in the oven for about 15 minutes until they are nice and golden.
In a bowl, combine 140 grams of plain flour and 1/2 teaspoon of salt, making a well in the center.
Crack 2 large eggs into the well and add 200 ml of milk bit by bit while mixing to create a smooth batter.
Use electric beaters to mix the batter, or a wooden spoon or balloon whisk, adding the milk gradually.
Once the sausages are ready, transfer the batter to a jug for quick pouring.
Pour the batter over and around the sausages in the roasting tin and return it to the oven.
Bake for about 25 to 30 minutes until the batter is risen and golden.
Serve the toad in the hole with your favorite green vegetables and some gravy.
