Garlic naan is a popular Indian flatbread, often served with various curries and dishes. It is traditionally cooked in a tandoor, giving it a unique texture and flavor. Naan has a long history in South Asian cuisine, with variations found across the region. Garlic naan adds a fragrant twist, making it a favorite in many Indian restaurants and homes.

Olive oil is a healthier fat option.
Whisk together dry ingredients in a large bowl and make a well.
Add yogurt and whole milk to the well, adding milk little by little to avoid over moisturizing the dough.
Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
Knead the dough for 4 to 5 minutes until smooth.
Cover the dough and let it rest for 15 to 20 minutes until it holds an indent without bouncing back.
Divide the dough into four pieces and shape into smooth round balls using a squeeze and twist technique.
Press finely chopped garlic and cilantro into the surface of the dough for the classic version.
Pat the naan with water on the back to stick to the pan before cooking.
Cook the naan on one side until bubbles form, then flip and char the other side until dark spots appear.
Brush the cooked naan with plain butter.
For the roasted garlic butter, wrap a whole head of garlic in foil and roast for about 45 minutes until soft and caramelized.
Mix roasted garlic with soft unsalted butter and salt to make the garlic butter.
Cook the naan the same way as before, about 30 seconds on one side before flipping.
Brush the naan with the roasted garlic butter after cooking.
