Servings4
1 cup rice
6 cups water
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 tbsp fish sauce
1/2 cup green onions, chopped
1/2 cup ginger, sliced
1/2 cup chicken, shredded (optional)
1 boiled egg (optional)

Quantities are estimated based on standard recipes for your convenience. The actual ingredients used in this video are accurate.

1

Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.

2

In a large pot, combine the rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

3

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

4

Add the salt, pepper, and fish sauce to the pot. Stir well to combine.

5

If using chicken, add the shredded chicken to the pot and continue to simmer for about 30 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked and has a porridge-like consistency.

6

Add the sliced ginger and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

7

Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

8

Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions and a boiled egg if desired.
