Guava Duff with Brandy Sauce

Prepare a steamer by filling it with water and bringing it to a simmer.
Mash the guava in a bowl until smooth.
Mix flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a separate bowl.
Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in the mashed guava, milk, and vanilla extract until combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
Pour the batter into a greased pudding mold or heatproof dish.
Cover the mold tightly with foil to prevent water from entering.
Place the mold in the steamer and steam for about 1 hour, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
While the duff is steaming, prepare the brandy sauce by combining brandy, water, and lemon juice in a saucepan.
Simmer the sauce over low heat for 10-15 minutes, then stir in powdered sugar until dissolved.
Remove the duff from the steamer and let it cool slightly before serving with warm brandy sauce.
