In a bowl, combine 4 cups of old-fashioned oats, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, and 1 cup of chopped pecans.
In a saucepan on the stove, warm together 1/4 cup of vegetable oil, 1/4 cup of agave nectar (or honey), 1/4 cup of maple syrup, and 1/4 cup of brown sugar until combined into a syrupy mixture.
Preheat the oven to 300°F.
Combine the warm liquid ingredients with the dry ingredients in the bowl, mixing thoroughly to ensure everything is well combined.
Prepare a cookie sheet with a nonstick mat or parchment paper (do not use wax paper).
Spread the granola mixture evenly on the prepared cookie sheet.
Place the cookie sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 40 minutes, checking halfway through to stir and ensure it doesn't burn.
After 40 minutes, remove the granola from the oven; it should be brown and crispy.
Let the granola cool completely before storing it in an airtight container.
