1 beaten egg

Sift 4 cups of all-purpose flour into a bowl.

Add 3 tablespoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the sifted flour and mix together.

Add 1 stick of melted butter (cooled), 1 beaten egg, and 1 1/2 cups of buttermilk to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.

If the dough is too wet, add a little more flour as needed.

Add 1 cup of raisins and mix them into the dough.

Transfer the dough onto a parchment paper lined tray.
