Combine 3 cups of self-rising flour, 3/4 cup of water, and 3/4 cup of flat beer in a mixing bowl.
Add a medium-sized onion, sliced small, to the mixture.
Stir in a couple of heaping spoonfuls of sour cream.
Add an 8-ounce bag of cheddar cheese to the batter, reserving half for topping.
Mix the ingredients well until combined.
Shape the batter into a football shape.
Grease a loaf pan with butter or sour cream for moisture.
Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it out.
Top the batter with the reserved cheddar cheese.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Bake the bread until done, timing will be provided at the end of the video.
