Corned Beef and Rice

Cultural Context

Corned Beef and Rice is a beloved dish in the Bahamas, often enjoyed as a comforting meal. It reflects the island's culinary heritage, where corned beef became a staple due to its long shelf life and ease of preparation. Traditionally served on Fridays or during family gatherings, this dish showcases the resourcefulness of Bahamian cooking. Today, it has found popularity beyond the islands, often adapted with local ingredients in various Caribbean cuisines.
