Its simplicity and rich flavor make it a favorite topping for various cakes and pastries. This dessert embodies the Swedish love for dairy, showcasing the creamy texture and sweetness that characterize many Nordic treats. Today, it is often served with fresh berries or as a filling in layered desserts, reflecting its versatility and enduring popularity.

Greek yogurt reduces calories while maintaining creaminess
Start with 1 cup of heavy cream and add 1/2 cup of regular sugar. Stir together well.
Put the mixture on the stovetop and heat until it reaches 160°F, being careful not to let it boil.
Once it reaches 160°F, turn off the heat and add 1 packet of gelatin, stirring until fully blended.
Add 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract and 3/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract, stirring to combine.
Let the mixture rest for about 10 minutes to cool down.
After cooling, add in 1 cup of sour cream and whisk everything together until smooth.
Transfer the mixture to dessert cups and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
For the topping, take 1/2 cup of either fresh or frozen raspberries and add 1 tablespoon of regular sugar. Muddle them together to create a puree.
After the cream has set, add a tablespoon of the raspberry puree on top of each dessert cup.
