Swedish Meatballs

Originating from Sweden, Swedish meatballs (Köttbullar) are a beloved dish that showcases the country's culinary tradition of using simple, hearty ingredients. Traditionally served with lingonberry sauce and creamy gravy, they are a staple at festive gatherings and family meals. Today, they have gained international popularity, often appearing on menus around the world, especially in Scandinavian-themed restaurants.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Lightly grease a rimmed baking sheet and a 2-quart casserole dish.
Finely chop a small onion (1/4 cup).
Crack a large egg into a large bowl.
Pour in 1/4 cup of milk and whisk until well blended.
Add 1 pound of ground beef, the chopped onion, and 1/4 cup of dry cream of wheat cereal to the bowl.
Mix the ingredients well.
Shape the beef mixture into 1-inch balls and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake the meatballs for 20 minutes.
Transfer the meatballs to a plate lined with paper towels to drain.
Transfer the meatballs to the prepared casserole dish.
In a medium bowl, pour in a 12 oz can of evaporated milk.
Add a 10.75 oz can of condensed cream of chicken soup.
Add a 10.75 oz can of condensed cream of mushroom soup.
Stir the ingredients until well blended.
Pour the sauce over the meatballs.
Bake the meatballs uncovered for another 40 minutes.
Serve them hot garnished with some chopped parsley.
