Originating from Sweden, Swedish meatballs (Köttbullar) are a beloved dish that showcases the country's culinary tradition of using simple, hearty ingredients. Traditionally served with lingonberry sauce and creamy gravy, they are a staple at festive gatherings and family meals. Today, they have gained international popularity, often appearing on menus around the world, especially in Scandinavian-themed restaurants.
Preheat the Ninja Foodi on Sear Saute high.
Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the inner pot.
In a mixing bowl, combine 1 pound of ground beef and 1 pound of ground pork.
Add 1 large egg, 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs, and 1/4 cup of heavy cream to the meat mixture.
Incorporate 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce and 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard into the mixture.
Add 1 teaspoon of fine grind sea salt, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg, and 1/4 teaspoon of allspice to the mixture.
Mince 3 garlic cloves and add them to the mixture.
Grate 1 medium sweet onion until you have about 1/2 cup and add it to the mixture without squeezing out the liquid.
Mix the meatball mixture thoroughly using your hands until well combined.
Scoop the mixture into 2-tablespoon portions to form meatballs, about 1 ounce each.
Brown the meatballs in the Ninja Foodi until they are browned on the outside.
