Sip four cups of flour into a bowl.

Add 1 teaspoon baking soda and 1 teaspoon salt to the flour.

Pour in 1 and 3/4 cups of buttermilk and stir the mixture.

Knead the dough briefly.

Prepare a medium cast iron skillet with parchment paper by folding it in half and then in half again to create a triangle, then cut to form a circle.

Spray the skillet with cooking spray.

Add the Irish soda dough to the skillet and gently pat it down.

Tent the skillet with aluminum foil.

Bake in a preheated oven at 425°F for 30 minutes.
