The dish showcases the rich flavors of yogurt and spices, reflecting the region's culinary traditions. Today, it is enjoyed in various Middle Eastern countries, each adding their unique twist to the recipe.

Cut lamb or beef into medium-sized pieces.
In a large pot, add enough water to cover the meat and bring to a boil.
Add quartered onions, bay leaves, black peppercorns, salt, cinnamon sticks, and all spice to the pot.
Simmer until the meat is tender, about 1.5 hours.
In a separate bowl, mix plain yoghurt with cornstarch, eggs, and milk until smooth.
Gradually add reserved meat broth to the yoghurt mixture, stirring constantly to temper it.
Stir the yoghurt mixture back into the pot with the meat.
Cook for an additional 10 minutes, stirring gently to combine.
In a small pan, heat ghee or butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
Serve the lamb in yoghurt sauce topped with sliced almonds and chopped parsley.
