Preheat the oven to 170°C.

In a bowl, mix together 1 egg and 1/3 cup sugar until well combined.

Add 1/2 cup thick yogurt, 1/4 cup oil, and 2 tbsp butter to the mixture and mix well.

Stir in 1 tsp vanilla.

In another bowl, combine 1 cup semolina, 1/2 tsp baking powder, and a pinch of salt, then mix well.

Combine the wet and dry ingredients and mix well.

Grease a 7-inch pan with butter and place baking paper at the bottom.

Add 1/4 cup desiccated coconut to the mixture and swirl to mix well.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes.

To make the sugar syrup, combine 1/3 cup sugar and 2/3 cup water in a pot and let it boil for 5 minutes.

Add 1 tsp lemon juice to the syrup and mix well, then keep aside.

Once the cake is done, pour the sugar syrup over it and let it cool down.

Top with pista powder and cashew.
