Cover the dough with cling film and refrigerate for 10 to 15 minutes.
Pit the apricots and fill them with sugar.
Prepare a bowl of cold water, a tray with baking paper, and a measuring spoon for portioning the dough.
Take three full measuring spoons of dough to form a ball, flatten it, and place a filled apricot in the center.
Wrap the dough around the apricot to form a round dumpling, using cold water to prevent sticking if necessary.
Cover the formed dumplings to prevent drying and refrigerate for about half an hour.
Melt butter in a pan over medium heat to prepare the breadcrumbs.
Stir the breadcrumbs in the melted butter until they turn golden yellow or honey-yellow in color, sprinkling with powdered sugar at the end.
Fill a large pot with water, add salt, and bring to a boil.
Reduce the heat to a simmer (level 6 of 9) to prevent the dumplings from disintegrating.
Carefully place the dumplings in the simmering water, ensuring they have enough room to float.
After about two minutes, gently fluff the dumplings with a fork to help them float.
Cook the dumplings for about 15 to 18 minutes, depending on their size.
Drain the dumplings well and roll them in the prepared buttered breadcrumbs, then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Serve the dumplings lukewarm for the best texture.
