1/2 tsp salt
2 large eggs
1 3/4 cups milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp vanilla extract

Beat the egg whites in a clean, dry bowl with a clean, dry beater until they reach a soft peak stage.

Check that the egg whites have small bubbles and the peaks fall when pulled up.

Dump the whipped egg whites into the batter, scraping it off nicely.

Fold the egg whites into the batter by pulling the batter up from the bottom and laying it over the top of the egg whites.
