1 cup split chickpeas (chana dal)
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

Soak the split chickpeas in water for 4-5 hours or overnight.

Drain the soaked chickpeas and blend them in a food processor with 1/2 cup of water until you get a smooth batter.

In a mixing bowl, combine the chickpea batter with turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, baking soda, salt, and chopped coriander leaves. Mix well.

Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.

Once the oil is hot, take small portions of the batter and drop them into the hot oil carefully.

Fry the fritters until they turn golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.

Remove the fritters from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
