1 cup mixed nuts (chopped)

Heat ghee in a non-stick pan over medium heat.

Add khoya to the pan and cook, stirring continuously until it melts and starts to leave the sides of the pan.

Pour in the milk and mix well until combined.

Add sugar and continue to cook, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.

Stir in the cardamom powder and saffron strands, if using.

Cook the mixture until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan again.

Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Grease a plate or tray with ghee and pour the mixture onto it, spreading it evenly.

Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top and press them gently into the mixture.

Allow it to cool completely and set for a few hours before cutting into squares or diamonds.
