Soak the dried fava beans overnight.
In a large pot, combine soaked fava beans, chopped cavolo verza, pork ribs, pork sausage, wild fennel, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, chili, bay leaf, salt, and pepper.
Add enough water to cover the ingredients and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for three hours, stirring occasionally and adding more water if necessary.
Serve the favata with guttiau bread on top.
