Instructions
- 1Melt dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water until smooth.
- 2Stir in sweetened condensed milk and butter until fully combined.
- 3Add vanilla extract and mix well.
- 4Fold in chopped pistachios, dates, and walnuts until evenly distributed.
- 5Line a baking dish with parchment paper and pour the mixture into the dish.
- 6Spread evenly and press down firmly to compact.
- 7Refrigerate for at least 1 hour until set.
- 8Cut into bars or squares once firm.
- 9Drizzle melted milk chocolate over the top for decoration.
- 10Sprinkle with coconut flakes and a pinch of sea salt.
- 11Garnish with edible gold leaf if desired.
- 12Serve chilled or at room temperature.

- ●200g unsalted butter, melted
- ●200g walnuts, chopped
- ●100g sugar
- ●1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ●1 cup water
- ●1 cup sugar
- ●1/2 cup honey
- ●1 tsp vanilla extract
- ●1/2 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
- 1Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- 2In a bowl, mix the chopped walnuts, sugar, and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
- 3Take the kataifi pastry and gently separate the strands. Place a portion of the pastry in a greased baking dish.
- 4Drizzle some melted butter over the kataifi strands, then add a layer of the walnut mixture on top.
- 5Continue layering the kataifi and walnut mixture, drizzling butter in between, until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of kataifi on top.
- 6Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- 7While the kataifi is baking, prepare the syrup. In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, honey, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes.
- 8Once the kataifi is done baking, remove it from the oven and immediately pour the hot syrup over it, ensuring it is evenly soaked.
- 9Allow the kataifi to cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.
