Vegan Tempeh Recipes | Sambal Tempeh & Tempeh Kicap

- ●200g tempeh, sliced
- ●2 tbsp sambal oelek
- ●2 tbsp soy sauce
- ●1 tbsp vegetable oil
- ●1 tsp garlic, minced
- ●1 tsp ginger, minced
- ●1/2 tsp sugar
- ●1/4 tsp salt
- ●1/4 tsp black pepper
- ●1 green onion, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- 1Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- 2Add the minced garlic and ginger, sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- 3Add the sliced tempeh to the pan and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- 4In a small bowl, mix the sambal oelek, soy sauce, sugar, salt, and black pepper.
- 5Pour the sambal mixture over the tempeh in the pan, stirring to coat evenly.
- 6Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
- 7Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onion.
- 8Serve hot with rice or as a side dish.

Instructions

- 2Add the sliced tempeh and fry until golden brown on both sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- 3Remove the tempeh from the pan and set aside.
- 4In the same pan, add the sliced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- 5Add the minced garlic and sliced chili, and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- 6Return the tempeh to the pan and pour in the kicap manis, salt, and black pepper.
- 7Add the water and stir well to combine all ingredients.
- 8Cover the pan and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- 9Stir in the lime juice and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- 10Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
