Tempeh with spicy peanut sauce

400 g tempeh Tempehine caribbean flavor
2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable oil
2 shallots or 1 small onion finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 tbsp (30 ml) soy sauce
2 tbsp (30 ml) ketchup
1/4 cup (60 ml) peanut butter
1 tbsp (15 ml) maple syrup
1 cup (250 ml) vegetable broth
1/2 tsp to 1 tsp Sriracha sauce

In a saucepan, heat the vegetable oil.

Add shallots, garlic and sautรฉ for 2 minutes.

Stir in soy sauce, ketchup, peanut butter, maple syrup, vegetable broth and Sriracha sauce. Mix well.

Add the tempeh, bring to a boil and let the sauce reduce and thicken for 5 minutes.

Serve over rice.
