1 cup finely chopped sweet onions
1 pound Marzano tomatoes
10 ounces cherry tomatoes
1 pound Campari tomatoes
5 to 6 cloves garlic
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Heat 3 to 4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil in a pan.

Add 1 cup of finely chopped sweet onions and let sweat for 10 to 15 minutes on low heat until golden.

Blend 1 pound of Marzano tomatoes, 10 ounces of cherry tomatoes, and 1 pound of Campari tomatoes until smooth, then set aside.

Add 5 to 6 cloves of mashed garlic and 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning to the onions and cook for 1 minute.

Add the blended tomato puree to the pan and mix well.

Season with salt and black pepper, then let simmer uncovered for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Optionally add fresh basil during the simmering process.
