4 medium chopped onions
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 cloves chopped garlic
1/2 cup red wine
4 pints home canned tomatoes
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried parsley

Pour 4 tablespoons of light tasting olive oil into a pot and heat on medium.

Add 4 medium chopped onions and 1/2 teaspoon salt; cook for 7-10 minutes until soft.

Add 6 cloves of chopped garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Deglaze the pot with 1/2 cup of red wine, stirring to loosen bits stuck to the bottom.

Add 4 pints of home canned tomatoes and stir.

Add 2 teaspoons of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of dried basil, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, and 1 teaspoon of dried parsley; stir well.

Bring the sauce to a boil and then let it simmer for 30 minutes.

Blend the sauce using a stick blender until smooth.
