Strain the egg yolks in a bowl.

Mix the sugar with the egg yolks.

Add the coconut milk and coconut flakes to the mixture and blend them together.

Coat a mini muffin tin with butter and sprinkle sugar on top.

Pour the mixture into the coated mini muffin tin.

Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Pour hot water (not boiling) into a tray and place the mini muffin tin on top.

Bake in the oven for 35 minutes.

After baking, let it cool slightly and run a knife around the edges to help release the custards.

Carefully remove the custards from the pan and place them on a plate.
