Add tail mackerel and mix well.
Simmer the stew for 10-15 minutes until oil forms on top.
Add cooked black-eyed peas to the stew and mix.
Simmer for about 5 minutes to combine flavors.
Mash the peas slightly for a mushy texture if desired.
Taste and adjust seasoning with crayfish powder if needed.
Fry sliced plantains in a frying pan until golden brown.
