Originating from British colonial influences, Ghanaian meat pies have become a beloved snack and party food in Ghana. These savory pastries are filled with spiced meat and vegetables, reflecting the country's rich culinary traditions. Today, they are enjoyed at gatherings and street food stalls, showcasing a fusion of local flavors and techniques.

Ground turkey is leaner, while ground chicken is often cheaper.
Mix all-purpose flour, salt, and butter in a bowl until crumbly.
Add cold water gradually and knead until a dough forms; wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
In a skillet, heat oil and sauté chopped onion and garlic until translucent.
Add ground beef and cook until browned; drain excess fat.
Stir in diced carrots, green bell pepper, thyme, black pepper, cayenne, and seasoning cube; cook for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and let the filling cool slightly.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
Cut out circles using a pastry cutter or a bowl.
Place a spoonful of meat filling on one half of each circle.
Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and seal the edges with a fork.
Beat an egg and brush it over the top of each pie for a golden finish.
Place the pies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
