Tiger Skin Eggs Pinoy Style

Cultural Context

Tiger Skin Eggs, or 'itlog na may balat ng tigre', is a popular Filipino dish that combines the simplicity of hard-boiled eggs with a flavorful pork coating. This dish is often enjoyed as a snack or a main dish during family gatherings. The unique name comes from the striped appearance of the fried pork around the egg, resembling a tiger's skin. Today, it remains a beloved comfort food in the Philippines, often served with a spicy vinegar dipping sauce for added flavor.
