Gently wash the strawberries and dry them out with a paper towel or cloth.

Stick a toothpick into each strawberry from the top, making sure it doesn't loosen up and is stuck properly.

Dump the sugar and water into a saucepan and turn on the heat to medium-low.

To test the syrup, pour some iced water into a small cup or bowl, scoop some syrup, and pour it into the cold water. Observe that the syrup should become crystal-like glass and should shatter easily when pressed.
