8 ounces tomato sauce
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon turmeric

a bunch of chopped cilantro
1 small potato
1 small carrot
4-5 ounces barley
4-5 ounces pre-soaked garbanzo beans
2-3 tablespoons canola oil
1 tablespoon salt (or to taste)
5 cups hot water
