Prep the night before by soaking the moose roast in 2 cups of whole milk in a zip lock bag.

Sear the roast in butter and Montreal Steak seasoning in a hot pan on all sides.

Transfer the roast to the crock pot, add sliced onion, and pour maple syrup over it.

Add water to the bottom of the crock pot, cover, and cook on low.
