- ●1 cup semolina (suji)
- ●1 cup sugar
- ●1/2 cup ghee (clarified butter)
- ●2 cups water
- ●1/2 cup milk
- ●1/4 cup chopped nuts (cashews, almonds)
- ●1/4 cup raisins
- ●1/2 tsp cardamom powder
- ●1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- 1In a pan, heat the ghee over medium heat.
- 2Add the semolina and roast it until it turns golden brown, stirring continuously to avoid burning.
- 3In a separate pot, bring the water and milk to a boil.
- 4Once the semolina is roasted, carefully pour the boiling water and milk mixture into the pan, stirring continuously to prevent lumps.
- 5Add the sugar, cardamom powder, and salt to the mixture, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.
- 6Add the chopped nuts and raisins, mixing well to combine.
- 7Cook the mixture on low heat until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan, about 5-7 minutes.
- 8Grease a cake pan with ghee and pour the halva mixture into the pan, spreading it evenly.
- 9Allow it to cool for a few minutes, then cut into pieces or slices.
- 10Serve warm or at room temperature.

- 5Once the semolina is roasted, slowly add the boiling water and milk mixture to the pan, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
- 6Add sugar, saffron strands, cardamom powder, and salt to the mixture. Stir well until the sugar dissolves.
- 7Cook on low heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
- 8Add the fried cashews and raisins back into the mixture, and mix well.
- 9Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before serving.
